Overview

The 2019.v2 release of UMDashboards includes three new financial dashboards and two new research dashboards.  The UMD Fringe Budget vs. Actuals dashboard is a campus collaboration developed to assist unit managers with understanding the impact of the fringe rate implementation.  Please refer to the updated, revised UMDashboards User Manual for more information on this and other dashboards available in this release.

New Financial Dashboards

  1. UMD Fringe Budget vs. Actuals: visualizes campus fringe rate implementation at the unit account and object code level.
    • Includes prior year PHR FTE & Headcount metrics vs. current year pay period PHR FTE & Headcount metrics as a point of reference to identify if fringe surplus/deficit is related to changes in personnel.
  2. UMD Personnel Dashboard: (replaces UMD Faculty & Staff Dashboard)
    • Includes a view of all PHR personnel vs. only budgeted positions.
    • Users can view personnel by account or by primary name by clicking on the applicable buttons.
  3. UMCPF Project Available Balance Dashboard: displays project available balances for both endowment and operating accounts at the University of Maryland College Park Foundation.
    • Weekly feed from UMCPF’s Financial NXT application
    • Please request access by contacting dashboard support.

New Research Dashboards

  1. UMD PI Research Metrics: visualizing the credit split totals of an investigator’s total proposals, awards and expenditures across the University by the investigator’s tenure home or primary unit.
  2. UMD Credit Split Analysis: allows users to identify sponsored research collaboration on awards.

Enhancements

The following dashboards have been amended/enhanced:

  1. UMD KFS Balance Dashboard:
    • Addition of Fringe Pool Filter: Divisions level users can now filter the dashboard to include or not include fringe pool accounts.
  2. UMD Research Expenditures: enhancement of 2018 Research Expenditures dashboard to now include FYs 2018-2020.
    • Dashboard is now refreshed nightly vs. annually.
  3. UMD Award $$’s by Agency & Sponsor: addition of award type filter.
  4. UMD Faculty & Staff Dashboard replaced by UMD Personnel Dashboard

Revised Training Resources

The UMDashboards User Manual has been revised to include the new and replacement dashboards in release 2019v2.
